The 2025 Melbourne Boat Show brought together Melbourne’s boating community
for another incredible weekend at Docklands. The event was a fantastic opportunity
for Volvo Penta to connect with passionate boat owners, builders, and long-time
Volvo Penta customers.

We spent much of our time at the Volvo Penta stand, where there was a strong
display of our smaller engines. Volvo Penta was well represented across several
impressive boats that highlighted the performance, efficiency, and versatility of their
IPS range.

  • Hart Marine Pilot Vessel – A standout of the show, this purpose-built pilot
    vessel featured twin Volvo Penta D13-IPS engines, offering exceptional
    power, handling, and fuel efficiency. It was a great example of how Volvo
    Penta technology is leading the way in commercial marine applications.
  • Composite Constructions Cape 50 – This stunning locally built vessel turned
    heads with its twin D6-IPS installation, combining luxury and performance in a
    sleek design. The Cape 50 continues to showcase how IPS systems can
    enhance both comfort and control for recreational boaters.
  • Palm Beach Motor Yacht – Another highlight of the show, this beautiful vessel
    featured twin IPS 650s, delivering smooth and efficient cruising with Volvo
    Penta’s renowned joystick docking system.

Talking with Customers

Throughout the show, we spoke with many existing Volvo Penta owners and future
customers. It was great to hear their feedback, share new product updates, and
discuss how Volvo Penta technology continues to improve the boating experience.
From assisted docking to fuel-efficient IPS drives, customers are seeing the benefits
of innovation firsthand.
